About us
In 1976, within the Pedagogical Institute of Oradea, sub-engineer sections were operating. The day courses lasted until 1986, and the evening courses until 1993. In 1976-1989, the name of the Pedagogical Institute changed successively in the Institute of Higher Studies and then in the Oradea Institute of Sub-Engineers.
After the revolution of 1989, the Romanian higher education returned to the Romanian tradition correlated with the western system. Thus, in 1990, through H.G. no. 460 / 02.05.1990, the Technical University of Oradea is set up, within which was set up the Faculty of Environmental Protection, among which specializations worked starting with 1993 Cadastre - Geodesy profile, as well as Health Engineering and Environmental Protection - Construction profile, as it results from OM no. 4685 / 07.04.1993. The establishment of the Cadastre specialization - Geodesy profile - predates H.G.R. no. 569/1995, regarding the program of the academic evaluation process (approved in the meeting of C.N.E.A.A. dated 09.10.1995).
By establishing the specialties "Architecture" (1994) and "Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Constructions" (2003), in addition to the two existing ones - Cadastre and Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Protection, the creation of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction in 2002 became imminent. The Faculty of Architecture and Construction, established by H.G. 410 / May 2002, by detachment from the Faculty of Environmental Protection, began its activity in the academic year 2002 - 2003, within it working in the profile of Constructions specializations Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Protection - accredited from 2002 and Civil and Industrial and Agricultural Constructions - authorized provisional - 2003.
Starting with the academic year 2003-2004, the Faculty of Architecture and Constructions included the specialties Cadastre, Architecture, Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Protection and Civil Industrial and Agricultural Constructions, all in the form of “day” education. This initiative stemmed from the alignment of the Romanian higher education with the European and world education. Starting from the need to modernize the Romanian education and taking into account the experience from other countries, within the Faculties of Architecture and Constructions, from the beginning the department of Cadastre was functioning, subsequently becoming the Department of Cadastre and Architecture (2011) - organizer of the engineering field. geodesics: Ground and Cadastre Measurements - comprising an increasing number of young and competent teachers. The members of the department collaborate closely with the members of other departments, from the faculty and the university, as well as with teachers from the prestigious universities in the country.
Starting with the academic year 2005-2006, based on the Bologna agreement, the transition to a structured education on three levels (bachelor's, master's and doctoral) is made, the program of studies in the field of geodetic engineering, Earth measurements and Cadastre having a cycle duration 4-year education (8 semesters). The details of this study program are detailed in chapter 3 of this self-assessment report.
The Faculty of Architecture and Construction, renamed in 2015 as the Faculty of Construction, Cadastre and Architecture, is a faculty with 4 related study programs, with high demand on the labor market. Considering that the number of investors in the area is constantly increasing, that a very large number of projects are being drawn up, attracting EU funds, at the same time, given the specificity of the training areas, in accordance with the socio-economic needs of the western area, in particular, by the available material base, by the number of existing teachers, as well as by the number of students who have opted for these training programs; the existence of these study programs represents viable and prospective options for young high school graduates. Currently, within the faculty is a master's program accredited in the field of Civil Engineering and Installations lasting 2 years called "Intelligent and Sustainable Constructions".
